[MUSIC] Hi I’m Tatum, and we are on location at Kinnick Stadium, where our Hawkeyes are about to take on the North Texas Mean Green. One hour and fifteen minutes prior to kickoff, the Hawkeye Marching Band performs a pregame concert here in the recreation building right across from Kinnick Stadium and Stadium Drive. They perform with Herky the Hawk and the cheerleaders. [MARCHING BAND MUSIC] The players jog through the tunnel hands intertwined as a sign of unity. They call this, “The Swarm.” The word “swarm” was coined by coach Hayden Fry in 1979. Lets not forget about the newest Hawkeye football tradition. At the end of the first quarter all 70,00 fans in Kinnick Stadium stand to wave at the fans on the top floor of the Stead Family Children’s Hospital. The wave started as an idea on social media and then quickly went viral and was implemeted at the first game of the season. It’s made national headlines and warmed hearts across the country. And let’s not forget about the best student section ever, The Haws Nest. [CHEERING] Thanks for joining us on location at Kinnick Stadium, Where the Hawkeyes just deafeted the Mean Green. Hope to see you next time. I’m Tatum. Go Hawks!
