The Real Dangers of Paintball
my clutch is going out so i need a replacement soon hopefully for good thanks for the knowledge
Building a gsr for boost…what is your take on the stage 3 yonaka clutch? I'm looking to make 350 to 400 hp max
I have a 07 scion t.c and my clutch is going out can I go with a stage 3 clutch rather than a stage 2
how practical is daily driving a 6 puck clutch?
i don't have a car but i learn so much on this channel
My only question is how can someone dislike an educational and informative video that doesn't cost anything?
If the only reason to use a pucked design is to increase the surface pressure, why not just use a stronger diaphragm spring? Doesn't the reduced surface area decrease the amount of friction by exactly the same amount that increased surface pressure increases it? I'm figuring based on the simple equation for static friction. Perhaps I'm missing something. Is the coefficient of static friction for the clutch material not constant with pressure?
why does he look 17 and 42 at the same time?
You're sharp kid!,.. keep up the good work.
Do they make them for automatic? I have an 06 AT tsx. It has auto-manual.
What's the difference between a 6 Puck Sprung and a 6 Puck unsprung disc?
Don't know which one to get. And it says it requires a flywheel counterweight
What's the best clutch for a 1992 Honda Civic Hatchback?
i dont understand something: u say less area of the disc, more pressure, thats ok but u also have less area with frictional force, so how does it benefits at all the transmission of torque?
Does the 2015-17 mustang gt has a performance clutch?
On my evo x mr I have a clutch 2 pressure error on my car does anyone know how to fix this??
It's decided I am going to watch all your videos
like threaded tires vs smooth tires in damp conditions
Nice channel, keep it up! maybe u could tell me if performance clutch is more durable when regular clutch?
is this yonaka product classified a stage 2 clutch?
Quick q? I got 350miles on a stage 3 clutch im boosted like 340hp i tried to punch it the other day in 2nd gear and it slipped do u think i might of alrrady messed it up
My puck clutch doesn't chatter at all
Can you do a video about how to properly break in a clutch, the do's and don't's? This is a highly debatable topic with not the greatest answers available. Also the break in period being different depending on the clutch material.
Why don't cars use a wet multi plate clutch like super bikes? It would be way more durable.
KEEP UP THE GOOD JOB…..
I really like watching your videos. It's very cool that you get into all the corners and don't leave out any details of information. Watching your videos is like going to a mechanical engineer class with a awesome teacher that has the patience and humble attitude to explain and teach with real examples how and why thinks work the way they do. Thanks for taking your time man. Many of us appreciate your videos.

Thank you. Great video. What about flywheels if the car is to be used on a short circuit arranged by cones? Slalom on a parking lot, with very short straights (less than 15 metres) and sharp corner (90/ 180 degrees). Lighter flywheel or heavy?
Does the organic and ceramic clutch wear out the same under normal use?
Could carbon fiber be used in a clutch disc (performance of course) as surface material?
1800lbs of clamp and its a 6 puck? Oem ford focus st clutch can hold 400 lFt lbs of torque with out issues. That's a organic clutch out doing this "performace"?
Please answer this question. When you have a stage 3 or peformance clutch, is it harder to push the clutch in?
Diaphragm springs should be outside pressure plates.. @author?
So my clutch went out, guess its pretty normal with 2015 WRX's I am looking to either get a new clutch from the dealer or start building my car, however I need to know what would be good for my vehicle. By the end I will be looking for 500+ hrp however I am looking to do it slowly not getting all the parts at once. I'm not sure if you can do that with clutches, so was sort of looking for some help if anyone has some suggestions.
keep in mind viewers are watching from other regions of the country/world where English is not spoken as "fast" a little bit slower pace would be okay. ☺
Soo which makes my pedal wheel harder/stiffer to press in-
The stage 3 pressure plate or the 6 puck disc?
I’ve just bought a 6 paddle ceramic clutch, says I should do a 500 mile break in, how do I break it in? Is there anything I should specifically do or don’t do?
Is this yonaka stage 3 as hard as competition clutch stage 3?
hi everybody looking for a clutch kit for 2006 Mazdaspeed 6… any recommendations?
You are microgastronomist of auto industry
The people that disliked this video really had nothing else to do
Very helpful, thanks!
Heavy duty clutch doesn’t protect the gearbox from more power in anyway does it?
Also, when you push the clutch pedal, the clutch is separating from the pressure plate or the flywheel? If yes, does the clutch permanently stay in contact with the flywheel?
So what are the 4 coil springs in the clutch plate for??? I always wondered
After replacing the clutch also still I feel the pickup is low. Changed the spark plugs too. I could not able to diagnose the culprit. Could you please guide me
Super helpful video man, can’t thank you enough for posting this!
As someone trying to learn cars, I'm finding these videos extremely helpful.
Thanks is was greath bruda
Ok so if i have a stage 2 ceramic clutch in my subaru does that mean i woulf be able to launch at higher rpms without damaging the infamously fragile 5 speed?
I wish you were my college professor.
And I thought all clutches were the same
Really helpful !!
Be warned if you daily drive in traffic you will find a performance clutch to be very ill suited. They are great for track use with a car that has mods that increase hp by a very high amount over stock. To say that they chatter, grab too quickly, and can make your clutch pedal heavy is a huge understatement. Please do more research before going with a performance clutch. The info in this video is correct from an academic perspective, but understates the draw back for the vast majority.
What’s a good performance clutch for a 2005 rx8
So quick question, whats the best option for a guy like me who wants a stage 3 clutch with the softest possible engagement / stiffness / hardness? More pucks or less pucks? Sprung vs Unsprung, etc. @ Engineering Explained.
Great explanation and demonstration, thanks
Hold on. Isnt the puck concept controversial? By reducing the area you increase the preasure applied to the area by elimination of displacement space. Sound math, however, its done because the material needs more preasure to apply grip/traction/friction? Wouldnt a bigger surface area increase the amount of friction that the clutch applies to the flywheel reducing the amount of preasure needed to grip/get traction/friction ~ spin the flywheel?
Excelente video !!
What Stage clutch can I get away with using on a 450hp 1997 LT1 Camaro? Looking at one with a Stage 3 clutch, and I want it to be streetable, and reliable.
Wow! Good job! I'm doing a clutch replacement and was hacking at videos. I had not interest in this one but curiosity got me. I watched it and I'm so glad I did. I bought an upgraded clutch for my car and now know the difference between the two.
What is the difference in stages?(stage one, stage 2,3ect) what makes those different
Can I install performance clutch in any car?
Would you recommend this clutch? I need to know before I pull the trigger
Can I swap automatic transmission for a manual on a 2006 3.5 Altima and be able to fix ck engine light still using the OEM ecu
maybe someone could help me with this. why use a performance slipper clutch for greater torque when u could just use a standard clutch which has much better torque by default and just learn how to drive?
I own a 2015 wrx with 26,000 miles. Got it off the lot brand new take good care of it oil changes every 3k or so miles. I just recently did the stoptech front and rear brake kit, and replaced all fluids (front and rear trans fluids) with motul gear oil and gear 300. Also i had a clutch kit installed the clutch kit was the act II performance street friendly clutch kit. I had all this done by a mechanic. (I do believe either the engine or the transmission had to be taken out. Today i got my car back and now I can hear a ticking noise when im accelerating. It sticks around when i shift into other gear and driving too. The damn thing was functioning fine until i went to the mechanic any answers to this? Please help
Forgive my ignorance but how would one break in a clutch on a racecar? A drag car for instance… You can drive it 500 miles before ripping on it at the quarter mile. What's the solution???
my Passat needs a clutch and 6 puck seems perfect for its use, its used for pizza dilevery
Organic twin plate Extreme Clutch vs Exedy Twin Plate Clutch? I heard organics drive better.
Man I wish you were around to help me fix my 01 325xi 😣
That must be why my clutch chatters on take off 🤔
Why run somthing that takes twice the force to hold doesn't make sense
Die you ever resurface, or 'turn' a flywheel when installing a new type of clutch, or does the break in take care of that?
I have a question. When did diaphragm style pressure plates become so favorable?
There used to be 3 main styles of pressure plates back in the 70’s.
Borg and Beck (GM vehicles), Ford Long Style (Ford) and Diaphragm which was used by everyone.
Diaphragm was the smoothest and most tame. Borg and Beck had 3 short and wide arms that contacted the throwout bearing. Long style had 3 long and narrow arms.
Long Style was the better of the 3 styles. Nobody used diaphragm style on hot rods. Borg and Beck was the most popular.
I had a big block Chevy back then and I custom ordered a Ford Long Style pressure plate from Weber clutches. It worked amazing.
I was in high school at the time and chose that style after reading a comparison article in a hot rod magazine which explained because of the added leverage of the long Style, you could run a stronger clutch spring and push the pedal easier.
So what changed? I’m guessing the popularity of automatic transmissions in V-8 automobiles?
Do I need to replace my flywheel when installing a performance clutch?
would a performance clutch kit engage lower than OEM?
Do performance clutches reduce rev hang when shifting into higher gears? I’m looking to upgrade the OEM ‘13 BRZ’s clutch, and I’m thinking about putting in an Exedy Stage 4 clutch.
in a dual clutch transmision which clutch is better to be used: a performance or a casual one? also does anyone knows a good website or book to design clutches?
Lose the wig, kid…
You are the boss. YOur videos are so informative. What are the springs in the clutch plate for?
Bruh, carbon clutch you can beat the shii out of and drive away compared to a stock clutch will fault. Simple right lol 😂
awesome video bro, keep it up. thank you
Jason, could you provide any information you have to the downsides of a single mass flywheel in terms of component damage to the drivetrain, gears, etc? and if I'm upgrading to something like a stage 2 or 3 clutch, is it completely senseless to stick with the stock OEM dual mass flywheel? trying to order soon as clutch is slipping hard on the n55 and needs replacing asap. Any help would be awesome.
Absolutely love how you explain things. Makes it so much easier to understand! Videos are helping a lot of people out keep it going
I feel like he’s a young Gale Banks
I love your videos Jason
Okay I’m looking to use my Lancer equippe as a hillclimb car, I’m wondering what parts I should upgrade to make it more durable
What is the difference between a sprung and an unsprung clutch disk? When putting in a performance clutch, is it okay to reuse stock flywheel or should it be replaced?
Your way of explaining is incredibly awesome. One more thing I never understanded before I do now understand! Thanks!
I have a 05 350z and I just put in a stage two 6 puck clutch. I do get chattering when I’m engaging 1st gear or reverse. Will it go away over time or will I adapt too it?
